Plant Families found in El Dorado County
This list of plants includes some that are actually in Alpine County. Because Carson Pass is so botanically interesting and so easy to get to, there is a long history of botanists from El Dorado County tracking the flora.
Also there are no doubt families not yet on this list yet because the bulk of the observations are from within the Eldorado National Forest or other well-botanized sites. If you see something missing and can verify that it should be added, send me a note.
Note that the families listed with a bullet (•) have changed names in recent years and the new names are not generally what you will find in books that have yet to be reprinted (i.e., the 1993 Jepson Manual).
